"Out Of The Frying Pan, Into The Woods" Out on April 17th, 2009! Filled to the brim with tripped-out, sitar drenched psych rock jams reminiscent of early Funkadelic, Captain Beefheart, Allman Brothers and 13th Floor Elevators. Mattias Hellberg has been around for a while now...seen and heard in various contexts and constellations; Alimony, The Solution, The Hellacopters, Jaqee, Nationalteatern, Kanzeon and Nymphet Noodlers, together with, amongst others, The Soundtrack of our Lives' Martin Hederos and Mattias Bärjed. Mattias Hellberg and Martin Hederos also had their own project, simply called Hellberg & Hederos, which received public accolade and press attention throughout Europe, and were even handpicked as support act by Ryan Adams personally, who claimed "They are one of my great favorites of all time, definitely Top 10 on my list". In 2004, Mattias Hellberg's first eponymously titled album was released and met with very favorable reviews. "Out Of The Frying Pan, Into The Woods" is the result of Mattias' lifelong love affair with music, a mix of early influences and new findings, accompanied by drummer Ludwig Dahlberg (from The (International) Noise Conspiracy), and Henrik Lindén on bass and Olle Hagberg on Keyboards (both from The Whyte Seeds and Fox Machine). The name of the band, The White Moose, came about from a very real and magical meeting Mattias had with a white moose one early morning this past summer, in the woods of his native Wermland. So please, help yourselves to the Moose stew, feel free to search for influences, thefts and other fun stuff. And don't forget to turn up the volume!
